Happy New Year! Happy 08'! Sounds odd that the new year is already upon us, taxes are now going to be done, inventory needs to be accounted for, and new ideas need to to be developed for continued success.

What kind of things do you need to consider? Try branching out and becoming a supplier, what about trying a new market? Or even trying new products or services in your offerings! Mix it up for 08', make this a time for exploration and reinvention!

Businesses need a focus and a purpose, define your business with a plan of action (Business Plan) and really stick to it. Make goals that are reasonable and measurable. Sell what you enjoy but make sure that it is something that is meeting others needs. Sell what is undeserved in your niche' market. Research is key for survival, network and grow in this new year.

During the Holiday Season many opportunities in business arise. The Christmas Season is also know as the Shopping Season. Business Opportunities: 2007 Reflection

Wow, the year is near its end. Almost Christmas (oooowww, I said the word) and I have so many thoughts about the passing year, the new year, and what has changed. My first thoughts were on how dependent I am on popular website portals that provide informational, financial, and marketing platforms. To be more specific, Google, Yahoo, Pay Pal, eBay, Amazon, & Half.com. What monsters of the web! Talk has already started about the exponential growth of the Internet and how is is growing faster than the infrastructure is being built. Predictions are being made that in 4 to 6 years brown outs will start flaring up around the world's major server's if upgrades and add ons are not put into place. Cell phone sales also got alot of media this year supposedly out numbering household land lines. The market has grown online and seems to feed off the holiday spending. A growth of 1 to 2 percent is now an average marker of Internet holiday sales, this convergence is minimizing the need for more retail store fronts.

What does all of this mean? Things are changing but what else? Well, the way people conduct business is not the same and our mindsets of the reality of our lives seem to be shifting. What is the shift heading towards? I believe the shift is headed to more individualize focus and more business opportunities for the start ups and mid sized specialty markets. Seasonal aspirations for money making are very common considering that many businesses make as much as half or more just in a particular season. Consider those who grow Christmas trees, make Christmas wrapping paper, create holiday cards, build Easter baskets, design Halloween candy, and pack those fireworks for the 4th of July. These niche products while possible to sell during other seasons mainly exist in just one. Large companies have understood and mastered the problem of diversification so that they can target multiple seasons if not all of them year round. Take department stores that sell clothing, they rotate goods depending on the season which normally is defined by weather. Coats during the winter, tank tops during the summer. Walmart is very well rounded. You can buy from the internet or in person, and you can get your groceries and other household goods at the same time. Some malls, retail stores, and Internet sites are becoming a one stop shop. How can you meet the needs of the revolving seasons?

Even if you are a small business, opportunities exist for you to increase your product diversification and hone the awareness of needs that are being undeserved. Provide not just one service but maybe three. If you are a car sales person have several vehicles lined up for the potential customer and not just one. Give yourself options and build freedom of choice so that your customers will be empowered and thus make decisions that have them coming back for more!

Business Opportunities 101 / A Mindset For Success

Trying hard to succeed is like failing with intent. Trying was noted on an o7' Oprah Show as failing with honors. This is interesting to examine closely. Succeed and try never. Its making the aspirations for success and then doing them that breads results. Yoda said it best at "No, try not, do", and then again in "Do not. There is no try."

Simplicity and refinement are most elusive in the business world, but what models do we have to develop success. In the Law of Parsimony & in Occam's Razor the principle thought is: the simplest of two competing theories is to be preferred. The world of business is full of redundant complex forms of lethargic waste. How can we become more simplified by identifying the simplistic method for success? One start is to set aside your old ways and ask someone else, even a stranger for an opinion. Sometimes it is best to ask a stranger because they will not be as biased in saying what you want to hear, they clearly do not know any better.

Asking others is a start but what can you do when your alone? How about the old divide the paper in half routine, one side the old way, the other the simplest. How about looking at the results that you desire and working backwards until you get to the starting point. Like reversed engineering. Another way is to look at what other are doing to solve the problem, after all, successful businesses essentially fill needs and answer the questions with the right answers.

Taking a break can be the easiest for most. This is what most people need, a break. Clearing the garbage in the head is a quick way to opening up fresh new ideas that lead to success. Old inflexible thinking leads to destruction of self and your business. Yoda again gave great advise, "No! No different! Only different in your mind. You must unlearn what you have learned."

Where Does Wealth Come From?

Wealth Comes from thinking, planning, appreciating, and doing things that we like to do. Excellence is by the very nature the result of doing and completing rather than trying and failing. Wealth is defined by health, prosperity, money, spirituality, social relations, and purpose. Money alone does not fix your unhappiness and make you wealthy. Wealth is a state of mind, body, and spiritual awareness. Becoming wealthy requires you to become more aware of your state of being. What is your state of being and how is it molding your life?

Personal Balance: Business - vs - Home Life

This is just a short entry about my thoughts on balance. Balance is always in flux due to the nature of our needs and how they are being met. The constant change in life is fluid and ever so constant but never ending. Life seems to ebb and flow effortlessly in the state of push and pull. What can we do to benefit from the ever streaming movement that surrounds us? The constant state of vibration is inherit in the being or life force that we are. So, how can we harness this energy force and understand it for our use in becoming successful?

One thing that I have found is simply not to over do any good, bad, peaceful, or distasteful action and feeling. Just remain in the moment and realize that all things change in time. If you do not change with time then you will be left in the past. You can over do and under do anything. Take for example those who work from home. You could spend every waking hour trying to find customers and building websites or you can schedule the time to do that in. One has chaos and you as a slave, and the other is dependent on your rules and your role as the master. Be the master over your life and reflect daily of your journey in life. Where are you going today, where will you be tomorrow?

Being Organized Increases Your Cash Flow

What I would give to have another set of arms! I seem to need more time in the day to finish my days work, sound familiar? What do you really need besides time? How about time management. Simplifying tasks seem to break them down to the essence of what they really are. These are some ways to simplify your work life so that you can have more home life.

Prioritize
Make list of what you want and need to accomplish in the day that you are in. By the end of the day write a brief outline of your thoughts for the next day. Keep up with your time you have control over.

Organize your Work Space
Mess and clutter are stressful environmental hazards that translate into smaller positive cash flow. Take a moment to organize your desk or work space when you start your day, and tidy up when you leave.

Stay Ahead of Schedule
By being ahead of schedule you are never late paying your bills, never behind on a project, and can solve problems quicker because you have more time to react. By being ahead you are normally financially ahead.

Remember What Happened Last Year
Businesses cycle through multiple ups and owns depending on the season, or surges in demand. Take note from the years past how your business handled the different surges and demand problems, and look at how to prepare for them in advance this year.

Business Opportunities For The Individual

Working for ones self is a rewarding but sometimes stressful adventurer. What are the types of work that one person by themselves can do at home? While there are literally thundreds of types of work solutions there are two main ways to deliver it. First is the most common, physical products, and secondly services. The service industry normally has the best mark up because you are getting paid based on time and not a product mark up, so there is more potential. You are in effect selling yourself as a service to fill a need.

The question for some is which do you pick. You can pick both. An example would be selling computers and also repairing them. You could sell upgraded parts and also install them. You could sell someone a new computer or give them an option to upgrade their older one. The possibilities are unlimited. You could sell basic computers to beginners and then teach a 101 computer class on how to use it. Be creative and listen and learn what people need and then what they want.

The Eternal Search: The Perfect Retail Products

What is the perfect product? I frequently wonder what the best product is at this very moment to sell. I wonder if I am even close. I wonder if my personal biases, desires, likes, and interest have kept me from the ONE. Is it possible that there is a One? Not sure, but I bet there are a handful if not more that are great selling any time of the year regardless of population and culture. What are some of these holy grail types of products? My ongoing search has lead me to several answers but this is really an existential question. The question really is: what is man search for to fill their life and or make it more meaningful. This eternal ongoing question will never be answered fully but in the world of retail we can take a strike at it.

What things do we need, want, desire? We need clothes, food, shelter, and some say even love. We want quality of life and advancement, we want more and better stuff. This is ongoing and self replacing. The old replaced by the new. We desire families that love, care, and friends that stimulate our minds and look after us. We desire protection and togetherness. We need, want, and desire survival techniques to promote ourselves and our loved ones. We seek education from life and from others with life experience.

In the retail world there are several staples that humans use on a regular basis. As mentioned in the above paragraph we need clothes, food, and housing, but what about other stuff. We need tools to advance. We seek better communication to learn more efficiently. Here is a brief list of items that we have shaped our world and become relied upon for human advancement and prosperity. This list involves simple and more complex items.

Food: Mass produced and sold in market places and grocery stores.

Building Materials: Modern insulated products to protect us from the heat and cold of our environment.

Clothing: Synthetic blends of materials to aid the species for more efficient movement and purpose in specialized jobs and climates.

Cutlery / Knives: Used for hunting, fishing, self protection, meal preparation, and many more domestic chores, practically the most handy tool invented.

Guns: Used to gather food, and protect.

Cell Phones / Radios / TVs / Computers / Nuclear Power Plants: The age of technology has dawned. The species has used its resources to better their communication potential and harness the powers with the universe.

So what does all of this mean for us retailers or wholesalers? Simply that people have needs. Look around and see what people are using, needing, and wanting. Ask others these questions. Use those staples like cutlery and clothing as a fill in until you find your niche. Be aware and you will see. Good luck shopping the world for neat items! I love the search of new retail products! Who do you live with the most? Who do you count on the most to get the job done? Who do you rely on to carry your business to the next level of success? Does this person remind you of anyone? I hope so because I'm talking about YOU! You are the only person who is in charge of your emotions, feelings, thoughts, and actions. What you want is a reflection of the chronic thoughts that make up in part the sense of self you call ME.

What does the ME want? Does the ME chronically think about financial freedom, happiness, and personal creativeness outside the 9 to 5 job? Most people do. What your chronic thoughts can do is put into play opportunities that will be refined by the action of doing. Business opportunities surround us with a multitude of potential and limitless realms for success to develop. Steps do though need to be put into play for such happenings to become our new reality.

How do we start? We need to go back to the ME we know and become the SUCCESS we want to be. This is started out by getting to know who we are. You need to find real answers to such questions that involve interests and what you want to create with your time. Do not involve yourself with those negative affirmations or thoughts that dwell in the poor of heart, that cause pain and suffering, and those people that destroy opportunities more than create them. Explore who you are with others that know who they are. Fill you time with potential and creativity. Fill your time with those that listen and those who create for them what you want for yourself. Find people and examples of others that have gotten what you wanted and see how they did it. We have a world of examples and books of knowledge at our finger tips. Lets use it.

After you get to know your self you become more trust worthy to others but more so to YOURSELF. This is the grace in which successful people dwell in, they have balance and harmony of self. Success follows harmony and happiness. Happiness brings forth creation, and creation rewards all those involved. When I started my first business years ago I never had anyone come to me and offer items at truly wholesale prices for resale. Nor did anyone help steer me in that direction. I wish that I knew someone in that world of distribution with real wholesale connections. Many years later I developed these sources but they took time. As we know, time is the most valuable resource. Because of this we need to leverage of time with others with experience and technique. What if someone was to aid in the start up process and solicited their business in return experience? That would be pretty neat, right? Of course! This is what I do still today. You make a new customer and you spread the word of your services and products through another company.

I have been harvesting proactively new business partners over the years in this manner. Some come and go but the fact remains that more than ever people desire to own their own business. If you do not mind sharing the market and being the middle man wholesale distributor then you may like this.

Try this out starting with word of mouth with friends, and then at church, work, and other social sites that enable you to follow up conversations on a daily or weekly time frame. The holiday season is coming upon us and we are reminded of the need for aid in our communities. The Salvation Army has begun the unending ringing of their bells in anticipation for charity. Donations are needed for all organizations helping those who can not help themselves. What can we do to help those organizations dedicated to serving others? Google AdSense can help.

You could donate your AdSense revenue on your web page or blog. If you do not have Google AdSense then this is a great time to add it. You can write off the charity in most of your taxes and feel good that you are helping others. Google has once again come to the rescue. The more you can give this season the better.

If you have only one source of income you might want to rethink that. What happens if you lost that source? It got reduced? Or if you get tired of doing that what you do? • Ebay: While this source is not new, may people are still the buyer and not the seller. Join the ranks and find your niche, selling could not be easier. You have the world as your market place! You make money while you sleep and you can decide how much and how little you want to work! This is a great opportunity.

• Selling e-books that you buy to resale or that you have created from scratch: This is a great way to penetrate a niche market and to advertise at the same time. You can be as technical as you want and as detailed. And as the title says, this is an electronic media that can be e-mailed to the buyer! This is a great one for those who dislike shipping. Once again, you create it or buy it once and then you can resale it forever! Not a bad investment.

• Blogging: As most bloggers know blogging can bring you money. Write about a topic that your find yourself reading about on your off time. What is it that you really like to talk about and think about? Write about this! This is your subject.

Wholesale: A World of Distribution

Wholesale and Retail are two words commonly used in today's marketplace. Retail or discount retail is what most individuals are used to dealing with. What then is wholesale? Are their different levels of wholesale? If you have a business or planning to open one then how will you buy?

Wholesale is the cost normally from the manufacturer or distributor which sells to businesses for resale. Wholesale can be as much or more than 90% of retail and as little as 10% percent. Wholesale cost range depending on the product or service. When all possible go to the manufacturer when purchasing in bulk. Wholesalers also include distributors which sell for the manufacturers to those that do not demand large bulk orders. Most wholesalers or distributors require valid Tax ID and a business credit card or account. Some require references and ask for you to include names of other companies that you do business with.

It is wise to have your business set up legally before you try to acquire goods at wholesale. Beware though of those who claim wholesale prices but their potential mark up is small. All you have to do to find these frauds is type in "wholesale" on Google and you will find thousands of hits claiming such status. In real life there is very few true wholesale sources open to the public. Middle men distributors are more prominent on the web than and true manufacturer source. Beware for distributors ads and claims, most are inflated and are not worth the time to invest in.

Investment, this is the way you need to look at your purchases. Will this item sell, how much is it selling for in the open market, and who buys it?

IDENTIFY - Understanding Problems & Solutions
When confronted with a problem one needs to identify what the problem fully represents. After the problem is understood (need) identify ways to meet this need. Understanding the problem stems from a systemic development of the desired outcome to the action of the end result. With an outcome developed, a plan to meet such end result transforms into a solution. Develop several means (solutions) to solve the problem and then implement the most reasonable. This internally is answering the question of what you want. For your business this is more so an examination of how you want to make money. Identify what you want in detail, visually explore the happening in your mind, and when the internal movie plays present it in the past tense. That's right, when you develop a plan that meets your needs appreciate them as if they already happened. Doing this you will have set into motion thoughts that will precede and aid in the physical development of solving problems. How does this help? Simple, by appreciating the fact that the problem is solved you are able to focus on what worked and why it does. Also you feel more likely to except the fact that you deserve the solution. This gift to use is called gratitude. Gratitude builds your formation of thankfulness that enables you to except a more creative view because you become more open minded. Gratitude motivates you to give to yourself and others because of what you believe you have received. When you believe this your business and personal life improves.

BELIEF IN SELF
Now that you know what the problem is, have developed a plan, and started to appreciate it you need to have faith in yourself (and in the problem solving process). Faith is commonly used in connection with religion. I am using the word faith to simply state belief in solution making that fills need. Becoming comfortable with trusting yourself can be awkward at first, this is evident in adolescence. Now as an adult you too have to get used to making decisions and forming logic around choice. Faith in your decision making skills are dynamic elements in building a business and a sense of self. Attract what you want and need by believing you already have it. Live your life the way others do that have what you want. Look around and see no limitations, you truly are unlimited in what you can do. Be an element of positive affirmation is key to success.

PURPOSE
Meaning can also play a major role in success just as gratitude does. In solving a problem there needs to be a clear end goal with purpose to carry the plan forward. Belief in self aided with the knowing of why creates a how. Purpose embraces the undercurrent of change with direction and feeling. The use of feelings is essential in playing to the tune of success. Feeling help gauge what feels right for our plan and our purpose. What we feel is what we become. You can change how you feel thus changing your perspective on how your purpose is. Finding purpose goes back to knowing the self and motivation that drives your actions. What you think tends to be what we do. Create thoughts that embrace harmony of actions with your goals which creates life to your project.

CREATION
To creation is the movement of making thought reality. Identifying, planning, belief, and purpose lead to the making of things. Formation of things are relevant for the completion of more new things yet to be created. Feelings of affirmation promote creation. By now you have a plan, identified your motives personally, and found purpose. Increase your awareness by using your steps to create based on the motives that reinforce the ending of the need. Rulers, Generals, Kings, and many more high level individuals have demonstrated the crossover from idea to reality. Take for example the pyramids. These giants of the deserts did not just appear out of the sands. These pyramids took back braking work, years of planning, and thousands of if not tens of thousands of workers to reinforce the idea to reality. Find your means to solve the problems you encounter. Be a force that makes things happen.

In summary, the most important thing you can do in solving business problems is to remain centered on solving the need. Businesses need to be flexible and remain able to change according to the needs and wants of those it serves. Be on the look out for new ideas, strageties, and action to reinforce success.

Get High Commissions from your Affiliate Programs!

A good way to tell if the affiliate program you belong to is serious about their affiliate program commissions is the percentage they are paying you. If someone is offering you 10% commission, and they are keeping the rest, then you need to ask yourself "Should I really be in this affiliate program?".

One affiliate program I have joined pays out 45% commission to their affiliates and another 10% to the 2nd tier. That's 55%! They only keep 45% and it's from this that they take their costs. Either they've gone completely mad or they are very smart! I suspect they are very smart. By paying such high affiliate program commissions they are attracting many affiliates to their programs. This means they can sell a higher volume. With a higher volume of sales they can afford to give away such a high commission. Because they are giving so much away to their affiliates with high commissions it shows they are supremely confident in the worth of their product or service and its ability to sell itself. Their product or service is that good.

The affiliates are doing all the pre-selling, all the hard work, getting the eyeballs at their web sites. You want to get paid for it. Do not accept 10% commission rates. Set yourself a standard of nothing less than 20% and make sure that the 20% is more than just a couple of dollars. It is with the big-percentage payers where you can make some decent commissions. The 40%-plus hitters. These BIG affiliate program commissions are the ones that will see your bank balance explode each and every month.

$27,817 Monthy With Affiliate Programs

I still remember thinking that promoting Affiliate Programs was a waste of time. Until I started making a small fortune.

At the end of 2004, I started some time exploring the concept of promoting affiliate programs through pay-per-click search engines. I knew of some Internet Marketing gurus who were claiming you could make thousands of dollars every month. But I was skeptical. I remember thinking, “I know what these guys are about. They just want to sell more books.”

But I decided that at least it was worth a look. The concept is quite simple. Choose a product – and one that has an affiliate program, of course. Set up an advertising campaign at a PPC search engine like Google and choose how much you want to pay per click. Write a three line advertisement and add your affiliate link. Whenever anyone clicks through your ad and buys the product, you earn a commission.

So I looked. And thought about it. And looked some more. I was still very uncertain about the whole concept, but I finally decided to test for myself whether it could really work. And since I knew I’d be spending quite a bit of money on advertising clicks, I felt it was well worth investing in a book so I could learn from more experienced marketers how to maximize the profitability of my campaigns.

As my business grew over several weeks I purchased and read several ebooks. By far the best I read was Chris Carpenter’s Google Cash ( http://tinyurl.com/6gdaq ). His approach is genuine, down-to-earth, and he explains very clearly how to build your own affiliate marketing business. And importantly, he makes a fortune doing what he explains in the book.

I started by testing 20-30 campaigns on various products. Most of them were unsuccessful, but I expected that from what I had been reading. I would test a product, and if it didn’t work, I would drop it quickly. The key with this business is identifying the affiliate products and campaigns that are successful. Once you find one that works, the money starts rolling in.
By February of 2005 I had identified several campaigns that were turning a profit. With one of these I was spending $0.08 per click to promote an affiliate product that pays me $18 commission on each sale. Approximately 1 visitor in 100 buys the product, so I make around $10 profit for every 100 visitors that I send.

What a formula! For every 1,000 visitors, that’s $180 in commissions. That might not seem like all that much, but remember once you have a successful campaign it keeps going all day, every day. If you send just 1,000 visitors to a program like this every day, then by the end of the month you will have earned $5,400 in commissions, of which $3,000 is profit.

Does it seem too simple? Well, if it was so easy everyone from your Aunt Mabel to the mailman would be doing it. In fact, while the concept is simple, getting your campaigns to run profitably does take some work. Since I can't possibly teach you all you need to know in one article, I'll give you a few tips here and recommend Google Cash for a detailed explanation:

Choose Your Product Wisely. The program should pay a commission of $15 or more, otherwise it won’t be worth paying for your clicks. And if the commission is very high, be careful. Some products like web hosting and satellite dish installations may pay commissions of $100, but you face intense competition from other affiliates, so the price you need to pay to get ad exposure and clicks will probably also be very high. Sometimes it is better to identify a niche product with less competition from other affiliates.

Track Your Campaigns Carefully. If you’re paying around 7 or 8 cents per click for a program that pays close to $20 commission, you need to make at least one sale for every 250 visitors. If you send 300 to 400 visitors with no sale, consider dropping it.

Days Of The Week Do Matter. When testing campaigns keep in mind the day of the week and even the time of day. Some products sell better on Mondays through Fridays, during business hours. Others, like entertainment products, sell better in the evenings and on weekends.
Getting back to my own experience, after identifying several campaigns that ‘worked’, I spent some time fine-tuning them using techniques I read about in Google Cash. By the end of February I had earned $27,817 in commissions for the month, all on products I had never even heard of at the end of 2004. My profit was a neat $10,795.

It’s incredible really. I made this money without a web site. From home. Working an average of just an hour or two a day.

I’m finally making the amount of money online that I dreamed about. How about you? Would you also like to build an affiliate marketing business? Could you use some additional income? There are three key areas that contribute to your earnings: Impressions, Clickthroughs and Effective CPM. Impressions
Impressions are the number of times your webpages with Adsense ads have been viewed. You can increase Impressions by increasing traffic (preferably targeted traffic) to your webpages. Some of the best ways to increase targeted traffic to your webpages include:

-create more links to your webpages
-list your website/s under relevant categories in more directories

The best way to tweak your ad format and placement is to invest in an Adsense Tracker, and test, test, test! Whereas in the past advertising revenue was reserved for those sites with large a coming and going of visitors, now even teenagers are making a quick buck with their online hobby blogs. Remember the internet provides no limits. This is one example that does work for me, and may give you an insight into exactly a website model, that you may like to put into action for yourself. Affiliate marketing and/or sales of any kind on the internet, requires a real commitment, as I am sure you do already realize. The internet is really one of the greatest training grounds in the world for sales. You can try and fail many times, until you find that system and approach that will work for you. But the commitment that you show in meeting this challenge, will be a lesson that you will always remember. Success is always achieved in no matter what you do, through simple hard work. There is no easy path to success, but when you achieve the success you are after, there is no greater feeling. So lets begin. In this example my website, which for the purposes of this article i will call '????'. I will give you the exact profit breakdowns.

With this website I treat all my affiliate products as purely residual income, much like adsense. Adsense itself generates for me, on this website, on average around $2 per day. I also use various other companies affiliate products, which generate around $200 per month. Also within the website, I sell e-book informational products, which I own the full resale rights for, which generate around $700 per month. And here lies the answer to making money online, no matter what you sell. The products, that generate the most income, are the ones that you will own yourself. Certainly I should be making more from the affiliate info products that I sell. But I lose commissions through simple affiliate url tampering. Commissions that are stolen or lost are a real pain. You can try every method in the book to protect your affiliate codes. But after all the hard work is done, you still lose that valuable income. The people who sell the original affiliate product know this, which is mostly why a high percentage of the sales price is offered to an affiliate to begin with. Because they realize that a very high ratio of sales made on their products will give them the total profit back. The reasons why people change affiliate product codes etc, could run into pages. Lets just say it is inevitable. This is the reason why I treat all my affiliate based products as purely residual income.

But as you can see in this example clearly where the highest return on investment lies. And that is in the products that you actually own. You can purchase resale rights for info products easily, and it involves not much money at all, most products are available for under $50. Or if you have the time and patience to search the internet. You can find amazing e-books that have free resell rights and the information they contain is really valuable. You will find these types of treasures occasionally, and the lights will start flashing in your eyes when you do. The information that you have just discovered is of value and that is a real key to success. This is why I, at this point, strongly emphasize the importance of this one principle. Only sell products that you feel strongly about and you know that will be of great value to the person who may purchase it. That includes products you have bought the resale rights for, or a free product, you have discovered with resale rights.

If you sell strong products with real informational value consistently you will always succeed. Your customers will return, quite simply because they know where the value of the information they seek is the greatest. And that is at your website. Always remember to put yourself into your visitors shoes. Ask yourself the question? Would you buy the products you are selling? Answer this question with a Yes. And you will be really on the start too online success.

6 More Free Steps to Making Money Online

If you read my previous article you will know that the goal of these articles is to teach you ways to get started making money online without having to spend any money. This is the second in the series and this time we deal with having your own blog. There are endless ways of making money once you have traffic, and your blog will get you traffic. The income we will be looking at today will come from Google Adsense.

There are multiple benefits to having a blog including the low cost (or no cost), the resources that will help you get traffic to your blog and the fact that you can provide your blog as an RSS feed. An RSS feed will allow readers to automatically receive your updates into their RSS reader.
Let's get started with our 6 steps.

1. Set up your blog. You will need to decide what you are going to blog about. You should decide on a theme and name your blog appropriately.

There are a number of free ways to set up a blog & to have it hosted for free. We will go with Blogger.com for our first blog.

Blogger will allow you to set up a blog for free they will host it for free and they will ping search engines every time you update, meaning you will get spidered & found.

Visit blogger.com & click the button on the front page labelled 'create your blog now' then follow the step by step instructions that Blogger provide.

Some key settings you will want to get right are:

I) 'Host your blog at Blogger' = Yes
II) 'Add your blog to our listings' = Yes
III) 'Ping Weblogs.com' = Yes
IV) 'Publish Site Feed' = Yes

2. Write some content. Before we move any further there has to be some information on the site & that means that you have to make some entries. You can write some of these entries yourself & some can be quotes from sites of interest to your reader that you can post using the Google Toolbar.

You can download the Google toolbar for free at toolbar.google.com. The toolbar includes a Blogger button. When you visit a site that has something of interest to your readers you can highlight the appropriate text & click the Blogger button. The content will then be added to your blog along with a link back to the site.

3. Once you have some content eg a weeks worth of blogging with 1 or 2 entries for everyday, you can apply for an adsense account. When you sign in to Blogger you will see an invitation to join Adsense. Use this link and apply for an account.

You can find out all about Adsense on the Adsense page but basically you get Google ads on your site & get paid if your visitor clicks them.

Google will decide what adverts show on your site based on the content it finds within.

You need to be aware that Google will decline your application if your site is not considered to have content. Nobody outside of Google knows the precise rules on this.

Once you have been accepted you can get some javascript from Google to add to you site. Copy this & then log in to Blogger.

Once you have logged into your blog you will see that one of the tabs across the top of the screen is labelled 'Template'. Click this. You will need to know a little bit of HTML to help find the right location to paste your Google code. But with a little experimentation you will find the right place for you. See the resource box at the end of this article for more help.

I would suggest that the ads need to be seen when the site loads but should not be too obvious or dominate your site.

4. Write some more content. Try and keep your content coming at regular intervals as a number of directories will check on your site at regular intervals & the smarter ones will visit on a schedule based on your update schedule. They will probably determine this in the hours after you first submit to them. Which is what we will do next.

5. Submit your site to Blog & RSS directories. Because you are hosting at Blogger, Weblogs.com will already be notified when you update your blog. (That means that every time you make a new entry they are automatically notified) You will need to manually submit to the various other directories some of which will require a link on your site to theirs.

6. Keep writing interesting content. Ideally you want people to come back again and again. As with customers its harder to get a new visitor than to keep existing visitors. So make it interesting, in fact make it so interesting that they can't help but tell all their friends about it also.

As with most free ways to make money this will take time to get going, but if you can build a following you will make money.

6 Steps to Adsense Domination

When you make your living online, you realize the need for multiple streams of income. One of the easiest and most lucrative ways to generate a secondary income, which also happens to be passive, is via Google’s Adsense program. I’m sure you’ve read the claims of a few individuals generating five figure monthly incomes from Adsense. For many of you, I’m sure you are wondering why you aren’t making this same income yourself.

Well, wonder no more. If you follow my simple six step system, you will be well on your way to healthy Adsense profits within three months. Are you ready? It’s now time to pay attention.

Step 1 – Preparation. The key to making money with Adsense is all about numbers. BIG numbers! Sure, there are a few people making serious money with less than ten sites, but these are the exception. Your goal will be twenty-four sites in three months. That’s just TWO sites per week! In order to accomplish this, I recommend one of the many available page generation tools available today.

Step 2 – Determine Your Markets. In order to maximize Adsense income with only twenty-four sites, you must know which markets are paying well. To break this down even further, you need to know which keywords within those markets are paying the most.

Step 3 – Register you domains. Once you’ve identified and chosen your markets, you must register domains appropriate to those markets. For example, if your market is ‘Cabbage Patch Dolls’, a domain such as http://www.cabbage-patch-doll.com/ would be appropriate.

Step 4 – Create your site. Using your favorite page generation software and keyword list, it’s time to develop your site. There are several key points to bear in mind when you develop these specifically for Adsense.
1. Format – Always use the large 336x280 large rectangle.
2. Border – Match the same color as your background.
3. Background color - Border – Match the same color as your background.
4. Link = "0000CC"
5. Color_url = "999999"
6. Color_text = "333333"
7. Position – Far left or center and just above the page fold (Top 25% of site)

Step 5 – Verify and track your site Visit your site and make sure all links work and that the sites appear to your satisfaction. You should also check out the ads Google is displaying. Are they targeted to your primary high paying keyword? If not, recreate your site using your high paying keyword in a higher density throughout your site. Make sure you track your Adsense format, position, and traffic with a tracking system specifically designed for Adsense. Once you know your stats, you can adjust for maximum clickthroughs and higher revenues.

Step 6 – Get your site listed in the search engines. This is simple… no tricks involved. Simply rent links to your site. A PR7 or PR8 link will do the job. While I’ve simplified the process here, you are now armed with enough information and resources to make some serious money with Adsense.
