When you live in the so called "Land of the Free" you would would expect it to be the greatest place to live on earth or at least one of them. Freedom is deceptive on may levels these days in America. With a lack of political leadership, Barack Obama, his White House leadership staff, the Congress, House of Representatives, and with the help of liberal corporate owned (national) media the freedom we once had is no more. Spending is at historic levels, debt both in trade and owed are at heights never before seen, and while this is enough to stress out our future generations we have to wonder if America will survive it's current legacy. The heart of America is private business and in the core is small business. What are we as a nation, a country of God Fearing People if we do not have an even playing field to conduct business. How are we able to demonstrating our capitalistic and democratic ideas and rights with goverent blocking free trade. Big government historically has always impeded the growth of business when it tries to control and regulate. We have many things to worry about but the most immediate is the influence the current administration has on the countries mindset of this once great nation. Barack Obama needs to be voted out in the next election. The people who voted him were simply mesmerized with the hope of real change but after 30 plus months the only change is the down fall of America.

Small businesses need to prepare for changes and become very flexible in these trying times. Keep a reserve of cash, do not over extend financially, stay out of debt, and look at providing value and personal services not offered in your area. You will need to be aware of the needs of the people and these needs may become more basic as resources become more out of reach. Just remember people will always need food, shelter, security, energy sources, and distractions (escapes form reality/ note video games sales on the rise!). Look to the future to see what you need to do today to survive.

As with any cycle there is a beginning. In your personal life we ebb and flow from destruction and harmony. Being able to identify where you are in the cycle can define your favor for success. Meeting goals is essential toward progress but understanding your role in the cycle of goal fulfillment and progress mindfulness warrants true unbiased development.

Mindfulness in business economics contains several key points to expand on. The first is focus in how you interact, awareness of your clients needs, and most importantly to most is the system of fulfillment in solving problems using your product and or service in the mist of your client base. Mindfulness is a developed trait that comes from distant reflection of need sets that are encoded in your client relations. Business relations revolve around serving each other so that needs are met for the prosperity and benefit of all parties. It is when the sales person reflects from the perspective of the third party then only can a frame of mind and action set can form. Goals and tracer outcomes are only a mitigation of a true knowledge base that forms within the business relationship.

This ongoing business relationship is based on factors that include trust, knowledge, and reputation. These are core components for securing a window in serving your client. Development of these three elements evolve over time and constitute your loyalty to problem solving, self respect, and willingness to serve. Gradients of personality are essential in expanding the expression of the three essential elements to further long term ties in forming relationships with historical relevance.

1. Trust in yourself, your team, & your client relationship. You alone are limited so engage with the team and build up the resources you have to meet the challenge.

2. Knowledge in your product & service, your delivery mechanism, and closing a sale that meets the needs of your client translates into understanding the clients motivations.

3. Reputation is how others see you in the results you yield in solving their problems.

Success within true unbiased change has an important ingredient called persistence. Persistence coupled with honest practices will manifest into broadened success only narrowed, honed, and limited to the ability level of the business's proprietary relationship constraints. The business world is interconnected with every matrix of function in modern and developing societies. The business person contains the most virile relationship because all trade through product and service development moves through the world of sales and marketing.

What are the basics in your field. What are you standard top products? Reinforce these services and products and be creative. A Home Based Business Won't Make You An Overnite Success

Believe it or not, it takes a long time to become an overnite success! Once you have chosen your particular home based business, the two most important things to remember are to stay focused and not to get discouraged.

I've had many active and enthusiastic business team members that were their own worst enemies because they exhibited the classic "flea on a griddle" behavior pattern and jumped around chasing one business opportunity today, and then another one tomorrow without ever putting in enough sustained and focused effort to reasonably give themselves a chance to succeed at any of them.

I can really relate to this situation since I briefly fell prey to this same "dog in a meat market" syndrome when I first started my own home based business a few years ago. I caught myself trying to chase several different opportunities at once and not being very successful with any of them.

There are so many home business opportunities (some real, some not) that it takes real personal discipline to avoid the scattergun approach...you know, throw enough against the wall and something is bound to stick. In the early going, it is really important to resist this temptation and to stay tightly focused on a single business.

Some will argue that "I don't want to have all my eggs in one basket". To those people I say, diversification is fine, but only after you have achieved solid success with your initial business. A premature attempt at diversification will quite likely cause a loss of focus and actually slow down your success rate.

If your main marketing vehicle is a website, you can fairly easily leverage your initial success and effectively promote a few other complimentary and closely related home based business propositions from the same website.

However, it is important not to go overboard and offer too many choices to visitors to your website. If you do, there is a good chance of confusing your visitors to the point where they will take no action and you have, in effect, diluted the effectiveness of your website.

Whatever you decide to do, you will need to stick with it for a reasonable length of time (give it at least one year) and put in a solid and sustained effort. Stay focused and don't get discouraged. As much as you would like it to be, starting and developing a real home based business is certainly not an instant gratification situation.

Holding on Price in a Down Economy

Discounting on price is not a sales strategy. It's an impulsive move made by desperate salespeople. In a tough economy, customers think and expect everything is going to be discounted. Because of this, salespeople feel it necessary to oblige the customer to close the deal. Unfortunately, however, this leads to a downward spiral, much like an addiction to an illegal drug. Once a discount is offered to one customer, it becomes easier and easier to offer it to another one. Before they know it, the discount is being offered to everyone. Like a drug, the "fix" is in the additional sales the salesperson is able to gain. However, just like with the addictive drug, there is a "withdrawal." Sales come at a reduced or a very reduced margin. To make matters worse, the discount ends up altering the attitude of the customer who now believes the real value of the product or service they bought is the reduced price and not the full one. Overcoming this mislabeled sales strategy of offering a discount can only be done when the salesperson is willing to change their way of thinking, despite how difficult it may be.

The first step necessary to correcting the salesperson's mindset is to help them believe in their ability to close the sale. Competent salespeople know why the customer is looking to buy and are able to capitalize on the needs the customer has disclosed. When sales professionals begin to feel the need to discount, it's usually because they don't believe they've established a solid reason why the customer should buy from them. They have failed to ask the right questions to get the customer talking and then avoided the critical skill of following up. When a salesperson has spent all of their time touting product features and not uncovering the benefits to the customer, their presentation may not include what the customer actually needs. Only when the salesperson has taken the time to probe deeper will they truly understand why the customer wants to buy. They need to ask the right questions and then listen to the responses. Then they will be able to capitalize on the information provided them.

The second step necessary to avoid the need to discount is to keep the message on the immediate return-on-investment the customer will receive when making the purchase. Keep in mind that businesses don't buy anything, they only invest in things. Every purchase made by a business is seen as an investment in helping them achieve their own goals. For this reason, the message must focus on the immediate gain that will result from their decision to buy. This emphasis is best brought out when the salesperson ties their questions into exploring how and what the customer expects to achieve immediately, as well as how they've measured results in other purchases they've made.

The third step is found in knowing how to respond when the customer asks for a discount or states that the price is too high. Salespeople need to be ready for these objections and not be concerned or disarmed by them. The first time the customer brings up this issue, the salesperson should not even acknowledge what was said. Often, customers feel an obligation to inquire, and once asked, they've done what they were "supposed" to do. The salesperson should only respond to the customer when they have brought the issue up for the second time, and the way they handle it is critical. They need to ask a question that is pointed directly at the most significant need the customer has. This will serve to shift the customer's thinking back to why they're looking to buy to begin with. After they respond, the salesperson should continue the dialogue with a series of follow-up questions designed to uncover even greater needs. The more the customer is focused on their need, the less they will be focused on a lower price.

Finally, salespeople must keep in mind that there will be times when they must be willing to walk away from an order. Although this can be scary and risky during these tough times, it's essential for them to believe they don't need every sale. Not only does walking away help them realize that there are other opportunities out there, it also serves to strengthen their resolve to hold their line and maintain the value of what they are selling.

Holding on price in a down economy is not easy, but it is doable, and, in fact, it is essential! When sales professionals believe in their product or service with complete conviction, focus on the immediate ROI, and ask the questions necessary to uncover the customer's greatest need, resorting to the mislabeled sales strategy of offering a discount will be unnecessary. Maintaining your pricing integrity in a down economy is truly a winning strategy because, in the end, profit margins are higher, the ability to service a customer is better, and the confidence of the salesperson is greater. Especially in today's marketplace, that's worth pursuing.

When the economy has a down turn, in this case (2008-2009) you have to be aware that your customer habits change. Customers that are cautious with the fear of market collapse, inflation, and job security purchase in a different fashion. In down turns we must look at needs more than the extras (wants). Products that you provide may need increased focus to the basics. Focus on your core line and new technology. Consumers need to be assured that what they purchase is a reasonable cost effective investment and/or cost saver.

Revisit your product line and look at new ways to present and solve consumers needs and challenges.

NO MATTER WHO YOU ARE YOU HAVE TWO THINGS IN COMMON WITH ANYONE IN THE WORLD.
Two things connect you to each other, the world around us, these challenge our minds and bodies. These two things are powerful tools for understanding the existential problems in business sales and customer relations. Understanding the connection is key to life beyond surviving to into thriving. I will now tell you the two things.

We all have NEEDS & WANTS. This is the key to building wealth. We must look under the rock to understand the earth, thus we must look at the real questions of who and what we are. Before we can understand how to interact with them we must know what to look for. Not only interact but benefit from knowing the differences between needs and wants.

We all want something. Even monks of eastern religions want to find something, something existential such as nirvana, enlightenment, or peace (non physical items). It may be said that we seek a non suffering state of being thus avoid pain and sorrow. We as humans do not like to suffer. When we want we are simply having a mental and metaphysical connection to potential not yet manifested. This potential can be realized and created into a reality by wanting. Wanting has a powerful motivating and yet psychic realm. Ever think why you want what you want? You want because it completes the first step in realizing your desire. Desire leads to investigation and thus to actions. Actions create and form the want into being.

In business, WANTS are important key ingredients to identifying a connection to you and your client. The business relationship is dependent on knowing how to harvest the wants for and to the offerings you provide. After identifying the WANTS it is important to enmesh it with the NEEDS. When you need something you seek it with intent to have it. When you need to eat you eat. Needs are more powerful than WANTS.

NEEDS are key for successful deliberating and closing of a sale. Needs are two fold in that they can be immediate (like air, food, shelter, &/or protection) or they and be delayed (such as schooling, getting a better job, and going to church to experience fellowship). The immediate needs are demanding and urgent, the delayed needs are sometimes extensions of past or present. Delayed wants put forth a psychology going beyond desire but yet dialogue with them.

Finding your clients Wants and connecting them to their Needs to solve real problems is key to making successful sales. By identifying the immediate and demanding needs you can play from the desire stage. Your providing not so much the features of what you have to offer but the benefits of what will be different once closing the sale. As a salesman, I have to identify peoples desire, understand what the needs are, and close the sale by making a priority in exploiting the new reality. The new reality is one of solved problems because it was solved my your offering (product or service).

May you find the needs of your clients and solve them. I wish you the best in your journey. Existential philosophy deals with death, meaning of life, suffering, and much more. In the end we simply have needs and wants. Some of these are caused by fear, some by ignorance. While we may never know the meaning of life we do know or are being to know the nature of humans. The human condition is revealing in so many ways our true nature of self. We all want happiness, security, and love. We all need air, food, and shelter. You NEED as a salesperson to understand the people you serve and they with reward you with more business that you NEED to live a comfortable life.

Selling for the purpose of Selling / Why product selection is meaningful

Selling: Purpose driven objectives

We are told to sell what sells, right? Yes, this is fundamentally correct. Although, there are so many things to sell so why just sell to sell? Product selection needs to be purposeful in regards to finding drive and meaning from the sale.

For an example, one that loves to sell cars most likely enjoys and knows of high quality sport, luxury, and import styles and models. With this knowledge over time you desire to have a nice car if you don't already have one. In fact after time passes you will be more compelled to sell the nicer cars too. Over my life experiences I have notices that you want to be apart of what you agree with and desire. So to sell a Kia Rio when you drive, read, and mingle with BMW's is a contrast that causes friction and diminished sales potential. The potential is reduced because you want to be elsewhere and thus you are not as present focused and driven to sell the philosophy of a brand that is not part of your own personal philosophy.

That BMW lover and hobbyist needs to sell BMW's and delve in the potential which is inherent with that modality of appeal.

Appeal is everything outside of function. Benefits are are second to function because function gets results that meet peoples needs. Meeting people needs is just the same as answering their question and making their lives easier. Making lives easier grants permission to buy. Buying equals a sale.

As a business owner I have tried many product lines in the search of the formal appeal to my own taste. I find that you need to not sell what sells only, but sell what sells that also agrees with your philosophies. Our philosophies change over time and this our lines of products will changes too.

Open minded selling contributes to a more honest sell which breads more intuition and desire to continue furthering your self philosophies with your product offerings.

You go for months with average to ok sales and then, bam! You have more business than you can handle. Sound familiar? It does for me. Ebay is going so well at times that you might just get distracted on one important area. Your goals.

Goals, I thought the goal(s) were to make money. What? Make money! Of course, but what about all those things you want to get, do, and develop? What about results from the push, you know, the new info that you get on how and what motivates you? Yeh, in hard times you really get to know what is behind the ticker.

Remember to keep making those list of what you want, how your going to get it, and how what you do now makes a difference. This is your life so start living it.

The Beginnings: How to Start Your New Business

I have been getting questions on several of my sites and in person on how to start a business and what they should pick to do.
First, lets get back to the basics. What we do not want is making the start up complicated and ugly. We want fluid common sense to be a building block for our new business structure. This is what I would do to start:

Find out what you want to do. Look at your options, if the business has not been created then create one.
Research what is under-served in you targeted consumer population. Build around the needs of the population instead of the dare to do something different.
Sell within the under served market those services and products that you enjoy engaging with. The more you enjoy the market your in the more you will want to do it and do it well.
Learn everything you can about your market. Be a mini expert in your field. Set yourself up to be a reference source in the future so that others can learn form you.
Diversify within a niche for maximum results. Build a client base that you know personally and can grow with there needs.
Set aside time to be with family and friends. Business can be brutal on your health if you do not learn to relax and de-stress.
Take time for yourself to sit in quiet and review a plan a action. Have detailed goals with timeline and make them realistic.
make a list of all the things you want and check them off when you get them. Use your list as a motivation tool to grow your business and make each and every sale meaningful.

Neat Stuff Equates to More Sales

Ever surf a website, a store front, or a platform like eBay or Amazon and find truly neat stuff? If your like most people neat stuff grabs attention and demands an investigation. Neat stuff can be in any category and in any industry. Take for example those who fish. A new multi-tool, innovative reel, or a new fishing line would all grab a moment of attention.

Whatever you sell, try to focus on what your competition does not serve, sell, or support. Find a niche that is a derivative of the needs of those around you but not exclusively satisfied by local businesses. A growing item for fishing, hunting, self defense, and utility applications are neck tools. These tools can range from a knife, to fire starter, to markers, scissors, flashlight combos, pliers, and many more variations. This would be a great niche, the "Neck Gear" store. While many sellers may stock some of the items available, I would imagine no one has a complete comprehensive collection of most of the gear available for neck wear.

Keep your eyes out. What is neat to read, look at, and appeals to the masses? What appeals to specific groups of consumers? Finally, what is stopping you from creating this niche?

Sales requires drive, understanding, and interest (among others things such as great listening skills and people skills). Some people have a 9 to 5 fourty hour a week job. Nothing wrong with that but the time, energy, and potential are limited for wealth creation by the day job. Working for a person normally means you are limited to what you can do and make in real money. Some jobs that sport commission may provide great opportunities if you are the type in demand. For the others, their type may not be what meets the needs and thus earn poor salaries. One thing about the internet is you can build on it daily. You can join eBay, eBid, Amazon, and a host of others and find yourself creating a name, a brand, an image that gets bigger and better with time. You create a reputation and level of respect with each step up in your on line business. Diversifying your business at first is tricky. Those like myself who are eBay Power Sellers need to be careful when entering into the eBid or Amazon platform. While the aim is the same, the ways of dealing are different. Be aware of how this an help or hurt. In general, if you have a product that is in demand on one platform, then most likely you will have demand in others. Keep trying new venues and the right combination will come with time and mutual respect with your customer base.

Ever just wanted to write a list of ways to make yourself more self sufficient? I do all the time. I think to my self, what have I tried and what should I try. Well, as you can see I write a blog entry every once in a while, and that seems to be ok. Blogging is more for me like thinking out loud.

Where and how can we sell. This is my list of ideas that I find the most practical and most comfortable. Everyone has their comfort zones slightly different than each other, so keep that in mind.
Ebay, yes, as much as I want to say there is now something better, I must say it is a place for addicted seller to group and fudge around. Ebay is becoming more expensive and restrictive. The categories are more rigid and the means in which to calculate your feedback has changed again. For sellers you are not allowed to leave negative or neutral feedback. Wow. What a load of crap. Ebay is moving in the wrong direction if you ask me, but with that said, they still drive customers to the site.
You Tube, a cool place to look up reviews and sell a few items either through earning a commission for leads that purchase or generating your own sales person to person. This is a neat way to customize the sales presentation and show off the service or product as you would intend.
Blogs, you can make some commission with blogs but you really need traffic and alot of original content. This is a minor source for most people in the generation of extra cash.
Flea Markets, cool local places to hang out and sell person to person. Meet new people and generate leads for new business.

Creating and maintaining a list of goals is essential for developing success and direction. For energy to be purposeful and focused, businesses and individuals need to have ideas and mental pictures of what they want to achieve. Thinking about these goal is a great start. But to further them in the physical world you need to write them down, talk about them with others, and develop strategy to manifest the results you seek.

A simple exercise that I use is taking out a notebook or a sheet of paper and write down all the things you want, want to do, and want to give to others. After writing these down over a ten minute period prioritize each. Write for each item what you would have to do to get that item or experience. Write at least three to five different ways to create the opportunity of ownership. This will prove and help develop your sense of flexibility.

The world's largest online sales platform in competition with Amazon anounces a major fee change. Competition has robbed Ebay of customers and sellers over the last several years. Amazon a direct threat to Ebay is known for its modest fee structure. Ebay in return has dropped there listing fees lower and in some cases dramaticly changed policies too.

This is a great time to check out or rediscover Ebay as a suppliment income, primary income, or an venue to expand your current business venture. Wow, the year is near its end. Almost Christmas (oooowww, I said the word) and I have so many thoughts about the passing year, the new year, and what has changed. My first thoughts were on how dependent I am on popular website portals that provide informational, financial, and marketing platforms. To be more specific, Google, Yahoo, Pay Pal, eBay, Amazon, & Half.com. What monsters of the web! Talk has already started about the exponential growth of the Internet and how is is growing faster than the infrastructure is being built. Predictions are being made that in 4 to 6 years brown outs will start flaring up around the world's major server's if upgrades and add ons are not put into place. Cell phone sales also got alot of media this year supposedly out numbering household land lines. The market has grown online and seems to feed off the holiday spending. A growth of 1 to 2 percent is now an average marker of Internet holiday sales, this convergence is minimizing the need for more retail store fronts.

What does all of this mean? Things are changing but what else? Well, the way people conduct business is not the same and our mindsets of the reality of our lives seem to be shifting. What is the shift heading towards? I believe the shift is headed to more individualize focus and more business opportunities for the start ups and mid sized specialty markets. Simplicity and refinement are most elusive in the business world, but what models do we have to develop success. In the Law of Parsimony & in Occam's Razor the principle thought is: the simplest of two competing theories is to be preferred. The world of business is full of redundant complex forms of lethargic waste. How can we become more simplified by identifying the simplistic method for success? One start is to set aside your old ways and ask someone else, even a stranger for an opinion. Sometimes it is best to ask a stranger because they will not be as biased in saying what you want to hear, they clearly do not know any better.

Asking others is a start but what can you do when your alone? How about the old divide the paper in half routine, one side the old way, the other the simplest. How about looking at the results that you desire and working backwards until you get to the starting point. Like reversed engineering. Another way is to look at what other are doing to solve the problem, after all, successful businesses essentially fill needs and answer the questions with the right answers.

Taking a break can be the easiest for most. This is what most people need, a break. Clearing the garbage in the head is a quick way to opening up fresh new ideas that lead to success. This is just a short entry about my thoughts on balance. Balance is always in flux due to the nature of our needs and how they are being met. The constant change in life is fluid and ever so constant but never ending. Life seems to ebb and flow effortlessly in the state of push and pull. What can we do to benefit from the ever streaming movement that surrounds us? The constant state of vibration is inherit in the being or life force that we are. One thing that I have found is simply not to over do any good, bad, peaceful, or distasteful action and feeling. Just remain in the moment and realize that all things change in time. If you do not change with time then you will be left in the past. You can over do and under do anything. Take for example those who work from home. You could spend every waking hour trying to find customers and building websites or you can schedule the time to do that in. What I would give to have another set of arms! I seem to need more time in the day to finish my days work, sound familiar? What do you really need besides time? How about time management. Simplifying tasks seem to break them down to the essence of what they really are. These are some ways to simplify your work life so that you can have more home life.

Prioritize
Make list of what you want and need to accomplish in the day that you are in. By the end of the day write a brief outline of your thoughts for the next day. Keep up with your time you have control over.

Organize your Work Space
Mess and clutter are stressful environmental hazards that translate into smaller positive cash flow. Take a moment to organize your desk or work space when you start your day, and tidy up when you leave.

Stay Ahead of Schedule

Working for ones self is a rewarding but sometimes stressful adventurer. What are the types of work that one person by themselves can do at home? While there are literally thundreds of types of work solutions there are two main ways to deliver it. First is the most common, physical products, and secondly services. The service industry normally has the best mark up because you are getting paid based on time and not a product mark up, so there is more potential. You are in effect selling yourself as a service to fill a need.

The question for some is which do you pick. You can pick both. An example would be selling computers and also repairing them. You could sell upgraded parts and also install them. You could sell someone a new computer or give them an option to upgrade their older one. The possibilities are unlimited. You could sell basic computers to beginners and then teach a 101 computer class on how to use it. Be creative and listen and learn what people need and then what they want.

The Eternal Search: The Perfect Retail Products

What is the perfect product? I frequently wonder what the best product is at this very moment to sell. I wonder if I am even close. I wonder if my personal biases, desires, likes, and interest have kept me from the ONE. Is it possible that there is a One? Not sure, but I bet there are a handful if not more that are great selling any time of the year regardless of population and culture. What are some of these holy grail types of products? My ongoing search has lead me to several answers but this is really an existential question. The question really is: what is man search for to fill their life and or make it more meaningful. This eternal ongoing question will never be answered fully but in the world of retail we can take a strike at it.

What things do we need, want, desire? We need clothes, food, shelter, and some say even love. We want quality of life and advancement, we want more and better stuff. This is ongoing and self replacing. The old replaced by the new. We desire families that love, care, and friends that stimulate our minds and look after us. We desire protection and togetherness. We need, want, and desire survival techniques to promote ourselves and our loved ones. We seek education from life and from others with life experience.

In the retail world there are several staples that humans use on a regular basis. As mentioned in the above paragraph we need clothes, food, and housing, but what about other stuff. We need tools to advance. We seek better communication to learn more efficiently. Here is a brief list of items that we have shaped our world and become relied upon for human advancement and prosperity. This list involves simple and more complex items.

Food: Mass produced and sold in market places and grocery stores.

Building Materials: Modern insulated products to protect us from the heat and cold of our environment.

Clothing: Synthetic blends of materials to aid the species for more efficient movement and purpose in specialized jobs and climates.

Cutlery / Knives: Used for hunting, fishing, self protection, meal preparation, and many more domestic chores, practically the most handy tool invented.

Guns: Used to gather food, and protect.

Cell Phones / Radios / TVs / Computers / Nuclear Power Plants: The age of technology has dawned. The species has used its resources to better their communication potential and harness the powers with the universe.

So what does all of this mean for us retailers or wholesalers? Simply that people have needs. Look around and see what people are using, needing, and wanting. Ask others these questions. When I started my first business years ago I never had anyone come to me and offer items at truly wholesale prices for resale. Nor did anyone help steer me in that direction. I wish that I knew someone in that world of distribution with real wholesale connections. Many years later I developed these sources but they took time. As we know, time is the most valuable resource. Because of this we need to leverage of time with others with experience and technique. What if someone was to aid in the start up process and solicited their business in return experience? That would be pretty neat, right? Of course! This is what I do still today. I have been harvesting proactively new business partners over the years in this manner. Some come and go but the fact remains that more than ever people desire to own their own business. If you do not mind sharing the market and being the middle man wholesale distributor then you may like this.

Try this out starting with word of mouth with friends, and then at church, work, and other social sites that enable you to follow up conversations on a daily or weekly time frame. Plan seeds of success and opportunity and give then examples of how you could help them if given a chance. Be realistic but optimistic. If you have only one source of income you might want to rethink that. What happens if you lost that source? It got reduced? Or if you get tired of doing that what you do? Ebay: While this source is not new, may people are still the buyer and not the seller. Join the ranks and find your niche, selling could not be easier. You have the world as your market place! You make money while you sleep and you can decide how much and how little you want to work! This is a great opportunity.

Selling e-books that you buy to resale or that you have created from scratch: This is a great way to penetrate a niche market and to advertise at the same time. You can be as technical as you want and as detailed. And as the title says, this is an electronic media that can be e-mailed to the buyer! This is a great one for those who dislike shipping. Once again, you create it or buy it once and then you can resale it forever! Not a bad investment.

Blogging: As most bloggers know blogging can bring you money. Write about a topic that your find yourself reading about on your off time. What is it that you really like to talk about and think about? Write about this! This is your subject.

Wholesale: A World of Distribution

Wholesale and Retail are two words commonly used in today's marketplace. Retail or discount retail is what most individuals are used to dealing with. What then is wholesale? Are their different levels of wholesale? If you have a business or planning to open one then how will you buy?

Wholesale is the cost normally from the manufacturer or distributor which sells to businesses for resale. Wholesale can be as much or more than 90% of retail and as little as 10% percent. Wholesale cost range depending on the product or service. When all possible go to the manufacturer when purchasing in bulk. Wholesalers also include distributors which sell for the manufacturers to those that do not demand large bulk orders. Most wholesalers or distributors require valid Tax ID and a business credit card or account. Some require references and ask for you to include names of other companies that you do business with.

It is wise to have your business set up legally before you try to acquire goods at wholesale. Beware though of those who claim wholesale prices but their potential mark up is small. All you have to do to find these frauds is type in "wholesale" on Google and you will find thousands of hits claiming such status. In real life there is very few true wholesale sources open to the public. Middle men distributors are more prominent on the web than and true manufacturer source. Beware for distributors ads and claims, most are inflated and are not worth the time to invest in.

Investment, this is the way you need to look at your purchases. Will this item sell, how much is it selling for in the open market, and who buys it?

Problems, we all have one, some would say they have many, but how do we solve them? Problems in business are similar to personal road blocks. While there are many thoughts on how to solve problems, outlined here is the basic components:

Identify Problem & Needs
Belief In Self
Purpose
Creation

These simple pointers are powerful and lead you to higher resolution of conducting business and personal affairs.

IDENTIFY - Understanding Problems & Solutions
When confronted with a problem one needs to identify what the problem fully represents. After the problem is understood (need) identify ways to meet this need. Understanding the problem stems from a systemic development of the desired outcome to the action of the end result. With an outcome developed, a plan to meet such end result transforms into a solution. Develop several means (solutions) to solve the problem and then implement the most reasonable. This internally is answering the question of what you want. For your business this is more so an examination of how you want to make money. Identify what you want in detail, visually explore the happening in your mind, and when the internal movie plays present it in the past tense. That's right, when you develop a plan that meets your needs appreciate them as if they already happened. Doing this you will have set into motion thoughts that will precede and aid in the physical development of solving problems. How does this help? Simple, by appreciating the fact that the problem is solved you are able to focus on what worked and why it does. Also you feel more likely to except the fact that you deserve the solution. This gift to use is called gratitude. Gratitude builds your formation of thankfulness that enables you to except a more creative view because you become more open minded. Gratitude motivates you to give to yourself and others because of what you believe you have received. When you believe this your business and personal life improves.

BELIEF IN SELF
Now that you know what the problem is, have developed a plan, and started to appreciate it you need to have faith in yourself (and in the problem solving process). Faith is commonly used in connection with religion. I am using the word faith to simply state belief in solution making that fills need. Becoming comfortable with trusting yourself can be awkward at first, this is evident in adolescence. Now as an adult you too have to get used to making decisions and forming logic around choice. Faith in your decision making skills are dynamic elements in building a business and a sense of self. Attract what you want and need by believing you already have it. Live your life the way others do that have what you want. Look around and see no limitations, you truly are unlimited in what you can do. Be an element of positive affirmation is key to success.

PURPOSE
Meaning can also play a major role in success just as gratitude does. In solving a problem there needs to be a clear end goal with purpose to carry the plan forward. Belief in self aided with the knowing of why creates a how. Purpose embraces the undercurrent of change with direction and feeling. The use of feelings is essential in playing to the tune of success. Feeling help gauge what feels right for our plan and our purpose. What we feel is what we become. You can change how you feel thus changing your perspective on how your purpose is. Finding purpose goes back to knowing the self and motivation that drives your actions. What you think tends to be what we do. Create thoughts that embrace harmony of actions with your goals which creates life to your project.

CREATION
To creation is the movement of making thought reality. Identifying, planning, belief, and purpose lead to the making of things. Formation of things are relevant for the completion of more new things yet to be created. Feelings of affirmation promote creation. By now you have a plan, identified your motives personally, and found purpose. Increase your awareness by using your steps to create based on the motives that reinforce the ending of the need. Rulers, Generals, Kings, and many more high level individuals have demonstrated the crossover from idea to reality. Take for example the pyramids. These giants of the deserts did not just appear out of the sands. These pyramids took back braking work, years of planning, and thousands of if not tens of thousands of workers to reinforce the idea to reality. Find your means to solve the problems you encounter. Be a force that makes things happen.

In summary, the most important thing you can do in solving business problems is to remain centered on solving the need. Businesses need to be flexible and remain able to change according to the needs and wants of those it serves. Be on the look out for new ideas, strageties, and action to reinforce success.

Why do some people or organizations settle for only one affiliate when there are literally dozens if not hundreds of matchable products at their finger tips? Look at affiliate products and goods as additions that compliment your webpage or blog and not compete with it. View the larger picture of design and strategy. This is a touch of the idea that variety of companies and products increases earnings. Affiliates can not only benefit your site but help promote the theme and pursuit of business goals. Get High Commissions from your Affiliate Programs!

A good way to tell if the affiliate program you belong to is serious about their affiliate program commissions is the percentage they are paying you. If someone is offering you 10% commission, and they are keeping the rest, then you need to ask yourself "Should I really be in this affiliate program?".

One affiliate program I have joined pays out 45% commission to their affiliates and another 10% to the 2nd tier. That's 55%! They only keep 45% and it's from this that they take their costs. Either they've gone completely mad or they are very smart! I suspect they are very smart. By paying such high affiliate program commissions they are attracting many affiliates to their programs. This means they can sell a higher volume. With a higher volume of sales they can afford to give away such a high commission. Because they are giving so much away to their affiliates with high commissions it shows they are supremely confident in the worth of their product or service and its ability to sell itself. Their product or service is that good.

The affiliates are doing all the pre-selling, all the hard work, getting the eyeballs at their web sites. You want to get paid for it. Do not accept 10% commission rates. Set yourself a standard of nothing less than 20% and make sure that the 20% is more than just a couple of dollars. It is with the big-percentage payers where you can make some decent commissions. The 40%-plus hitters. These BIG affiliate program commissions are the ones that will see your bank balance explode each and every month.

$27,817 Monthy With Affiliate Programs

I still remember thinking that promoting Affiliate Programs was a waste of time. Until I started making a small fortune.

At the end of 2004, I started some time exploring the concept of promoting affiliate programs through pay-per-click search engines. I knew of some Internet Marketing gurus who were claiming you could make thousands of dollars every month. But I was skeptical. I remember thinking, “I know what these guys are about. They just want to sell more books.”

But I decided that at least it was worth a look. The concept is quite simple. Choose a product – and one that has an affiliate program, of course. Set up an advertising campaign at a PPC search engine like Google and choose how much you want to pay per click. Write a three line advertisement and add your affiliate link. Whenever anyone clicks through your ad and buys the product, you earn a commission.

So I looked. And thought about it. And looked some more. I was still very uncertain about the whole concept, but I finally decided to test for myself whether it could really work. And since I knew I’d be spending quite a bit of money on advertising clicks, I felt it was well worth investing in a book so I could learn from more experienced marketers how to maximize the profitability of my campaigns.

As my business grew over several weeks I purchased and read several ebooks. By far the best I read was Chris Carpenter’s Google Cash ( http://tinyurl.com/6gdaq ). His approach is genuine, down-to-earth, and he explains very clearly how to build your own affiliate marketing business. And importantly, he makes a fortune doing what he explains in the book.

I started by testing 20-30 campaigns on various products. Most of them were unsuccessful, but I expected that from what I had been reading. I would test a product, and if it didn’t work, I would drop it quickly. The key with this business is identifying the affiliate products and campaigns that are successful. Once you find one that works, the money starts rolling in.
By February of 2005 I had identified several campaigns that were turning a profit. With one of these I was spending $0.08 per click to promote an affiliate product that pays me $18 commission on each sale. Approximately 1 visitor in 100 buys the product, so I make around $10 profit for every 100 visitors that I send.

What a formula! For every 1,000 visitors, that’s $180 in commissions. That might not seem like all that much, but remember once you have a successful campaign it keeps going all day, every day. If you send just 1,000 visitors to a program like this every day, then by the end of the month you will have earned $5,400 in commissions, of which $3,000 is profit.

Does it seem too simple? Well, if it was so easy everyone from your Aunt Mabel to the mailman would be doing it. In fact, while the concept is simple, getting your campaigns to run profitably does take some work. Since I can't possibly teach you all you need to know in one article, I'll give you a few tips here and recommend Google Cash for a detailed explanation:

Choose Your Product Wisely. The program should pay a commission of $15 or more, otherwise it won’t be worth paying for your clicks. And if the commission is very high, be careful. Some products like web hosting and satellite dish installations may pay commissions of $100, but you face intense competition from other affiliates, so the price you need to pay to get ad exposure and clicks will probably also be very high. Sometimes it is better to identify a niche product with less competition from other affiliates.

Track Your Campaigns Carefully. If you’re paying around 7 or 8 cents per click for a program that pays close to $20 commission, you need to make at least one sale for every 250 visitors. If you send 300 to 400 visitors with no sale, consider dropping it.

Days Of The Week Do Matter. When testing campaigns keep in mind the day of the week and even the time of day. Some products sell better on Mondays through Fridays, during business hours. Others, like entertainment products, sell better in the evenings and on weekends.
Getting back to my own experience, after identifying several campaigns that ‘worked’, I spent some time fine-tuning them using techniques I read about in Google Cash. By the end of February I had earned $27,817 in commissions for the month, all on products I had never even heard of at the end of 2004. My profit was a neat $10,795.

It’s incredible really. I made this money without a web site. From home. Working an average of just an hour or two a day.

I’m finally making the amount of money online that I dreamed about. How about you? Would you also like to build an affiliate marketing business? Could you use some additional income? That way you’ll be on a fast track to more profitable campaigns. And his book will save you hundreds of dollars, easily, as you avoid some common mistakes and pitfalls.

So you want to increase your Adsense income? Log into your Adsense account, and look at your last month's stats. There are three key areas that contribute to your earnings: Impressions, Clickthroughs and Effective CPM. Improving your stats in any, or preferably, all of these three key areas will increase your Adsense earnings.

Impressions
Impressions are the number of times your webpages with Adsense ads have been viewed. You can increase Impressions by increasing traffic (preferably targeted traffic) to your webpages. Some of the best ways to increase targeted traffic to your webpages include:
-create more webpages, with relevant, focused content
-create more links to your webpages
-list your website/s under relevant categories in more directories
-set up a directory of relevant sites on your website and accept relevant reciprocal links

You can increase your Effective CPM by selecting topics that attract high bids from Adsense advertisers, and building pages and whole websites on higher paying topics. Although Google doesn't release information on Adsense bids, you can get a good idea of the top paying topics by looking at information on Adwords bids, or, for that matter, bids on pay-per-click search engines like Overture. There are a number of keyword research tools available, both free and paid, that can help you find high paying topics. The Formula So now you have the basics of increasing your Adsense income. Webmasters have a revolutionary new method of collecting income from their websites.
Whereas in the past advertising revenue was reserved for those sites with large a coming and going of visitors, now even teenagers are making a quick buck with their online hobby blogs. People place adsense on their online family photo albums, their blogs and their business sites. The minimum you would get, even with a small amount of traffic, is for adsense to pay for your hosting costs.

Adsense revolutionized the world of paid advertising; banner advertising is based on the number of visitors you attract to your site, so the number of “banner impressions” dictate the revenue you receive. Google Adsense is quite different; it is the number of visitors that actually click on the advertising that determine how much you earn.

There is also a great disparity between payouts; because advertisers bid up the price for certain keywords, some ads pay more than others. As such, a site with few visitors but expensive keywords in their google ads can potentially still pull in a hefty payout.

It is no surprise Google adsense is the most widely used form of advertising; they have created a program that is beneficial to both advertisers and users with their “no click no pay” mechanism, or more popularly called “pay-per-click”. Advertisers do not pay for ads that are not drawing visitors, and website owners are paid more for each click than they would if the system were based on the number of people viewing the ads, instead of clicking on them.

I would like to share with you one simple stratergy in creating income with your own website. This is just one method out of simply millions that you could create for yourself. Remember the internet provides no limits. This is one example that does work for me, and may give you an insight into exactly a website model, that you may like to put into action for yourself. Affiliate marketing and/or sales of any kind on the internet, requires a real commitment, as I am sure you do already realize. The internet is really one of the greatest training grounds in the world for sales. You can try and fail many times, until you find that system and approach that will work for you. But the commitment that you show in meeting this challenge, will be a lesson that you will always remember. Success is always achieved in no matter what you do, through simple hard work. There is no easy path to success, but when you achieve the success you are after, there is no greater feeling. So lets begin. In this example my website, which for the purposes of this article i will call '????'. I will give you the exact profit breakdowns.

With this website I treat all my affiliate products as purely residual income, much like adsense. Adsense itself generates for me, on this website, on average around $2 per day. I also use various other companies affiliate products, which generate around $200 per month. Also within the website, I sell e-book informational products, which I own the full resale rights for, which generate around $700 per month. And here lies the answer to making money online, no matter what you sell. The products, that generate the most income, are the ones that you will own yourself. Certainly I should be making more from the affiliate info products that I sell. But I lose commissions through simple affiliate url tampering. Commissions that are stolen or lost are a real pain. You can try every method in the book to protect your affiliate codes. But after all the hard work is done, you still lose that valuable income. The people who sell the original affiliate product know this, which is mostly why a high percentage of the sales price is offered to an affiliate to begin with. Because they realize that a very high ratio of sales made on their products will give them the total profit back. The reasons why people change affiliate product codes etc, could run into pages. Lets just say it is inevitable. This is the reason why I treat all my affiliate based products as purely residual income.

But as you can see in this example clearly where the highest return on investment lies. And that is in the products that you actually own. You can purchase resale rights for info products easily, and it involves not much money at all, most products are available for under $50. Or if you have the time and patience to search the internet. You can find amazing e-books that have free resell rights and the information they contain is really valuable. You will find these types of treasures occasionally, and the lights will start flashing in your eyes when you do. The information that you have just discovered is of value and that is a real key to success. This is why I, at this point, strongly emphasize the importance of this one principle. Only sell products that you feel strongly about and you know that will be of great value to the person who may purchase it. That includes products you have bought the resale rights for, or a free product, you have discovered with resale rights.

If you sell strong products with real informational value consistently you will always succeed. Your customers will return, quite simply because they know where the value of the information they seek is the greatest. And that is at your website. Always remember to put yourself into your visitors shoes. Ask yourself the question? Would you buy the products you are selling? Answer this question with a Yes. And you will be really on the start too online success.

6 More Free Steps to Making Money Online

If you read my previous article you will know that the goal of these articles is to teach you ways to get started making money online without having to spend any money. This is the second in the series and this time we deal with having your own blog. There are endless ways of making money once you have traffic, and your blog will get you traffic. The income we will be looking at today will come from Google Adsense.

There are multiple benefits to having a blog including the low cost (or no cost), the resources that will help you get traffic to your blog and the fact that you can provide your blog as an RSS feed. An RSS feed will allow readers to automatically receive your updates into their RSS reader.
Let's get started with our 6 steps.

1. Set up your blog. You will need to decide what you are going to blog about. You should decide on a theme and name your blog appropriately.

There are a number of free ways to set up a blog & to have it hosted for free. We will go with Blogger.com for our first blog.

Blogger will allow you to set up a blog for free they will host it for free and they will ping search engines every time you update, meaning you will get spidered & found.

Visit blogger.com & click the button on the front page labelled 'create your blog now' then follow the step by step instructions that Blogger provide.

Some key settings you will want to get right are:

I) 'Host your blog at Blogger' = Yes
II) 'Add your blog to our listings' = Yes
III) 'Ping Weblogs.com' = Yes
IV) 'Publish Site Feed' = Yes

2. Write some content. Before we move any further there has to be some information on the site & that means that you have to make some entries. You can write some of these entries yourself & some can be quotes from sites of interest to your reader that you can post using the Google Toolbar.

You can download the Google toolbar for free at toolbar.google.com. The toolbar includes a Blogger button. When you visit a site that has something of interest to your readers you can highlight the appropriate text & click the Blogger button. The content will then be added to your blog along with a link back to the site.

3. Once you have some content eg a weeks worth of blogging with 1 or 2 entries for everyday, you can apply for an adsense account. When you sign in to Blogger you will see an invitation to join Adsense. Use this link and apply for an account.

You can find out all about Adsense on the Adsense page but basically you get Google ads on your site & get paid if your visitor clicks them.

Google will decide what adverts show on your site based on the content it finds within.

You need to be aware that Google will decline your application if your site is not considered to have content. Nobody outside of Google knows the precise rules on this.

Once you have been accepted you can get some javascript from Google to add to you site. Copy this & then log in to Blogger.

Once you have logged into your blog you will see that one of the tabs across the top of the screen is labelled 'Template'. Click this. You will need to know a little bit of HTML to help find the right location to paste your Google code. But with a little experimentation you will find the right place for you. See the resource box at the end of this article for more help.

I would suggest that the ads need to be seen when the site loads but should not be too obvious or dominate your site.

4. Write some more content. Try and keep your content coming at regular intervals as a number of directories will check on your site at regular intervals & the smarter ones will visit on a schedule based on your update schedule. They will probably determine this in the hours after you first submit to them. Which is what we will do next.

5. Submit your site to Blog & RSS directories. Because you are hosting at Blogger, Weblogs.com will already be notified when you update your blog. (That means that every time you make a new entry they are automatically notified) You will need to manually submit to the various other directories some of which will require a link on your site to theirs.

6. Keep writing interesting content. Ideally you want people to come back again and again. As with customers its harder to get a new visitor than to keep existing visitors. So make it interesting, in fact make it so interesting that they can't help but tell all their friends about it also.

There are many people on-line today promising that if you will just buy their program, marketing system, traffic generation, MLM opportunity and more you will be successful and make it big. There are thousands of eZines and Newsletters out there that all claim to have the secret inside information on how to be an Internet Marketing success just like them. 5. Search Engine locations. How high do you want to aim ? Based on how many key words?
6. Back end products.
How many back end products do you wish to develop?
How many sales do you plan to make of your back end products?
What % of customers do you expect to sell your back end products to.

These are just some example key performance indicators. Your business may be different and require a different set of key performance indicators. 6 Steps to Adsense Domination

When you make your living online, you realize the need for multiple streams of income. One of the easiest and most lucrative ways to generate a secondary income, which also happens to be passive, is via Google’s Adsense program. I’m sure you’ve read the claims of a few individuals generating five figure monthly incomes from Adsense. For many of you, I’m sure you are wondering why you aren’t making this same income yourself.

Well, wonder no more. If you follow my simple six step system, you will be well on your way to healthy Adsense profits within three months. Are you ready? It’s now time to pay attention.

Step 1 – Preparation. The key to making money with Adsense is all about numbers. BIG numbers! Sure, there are a few people making serious money with less than ten sites, but these are the exception. Your goal will be twenty-four sites in three months. That’s just TWO sites per week! In order to accomplish this, I recommend one of the many available page generation tools available today.

Step 2 – Determine Your Markets. In order to maximize Adsense income with only twenty-four sites, you must know which markets are paying well. To break this down even further, you need to know which keywords within those markets are paying the most.

Step 3 – Register you domains. Once you’ve identified and chosen your markets, you must register domains appropriate to those markets. For example, if your market is ‘Cabbage Patch Dolls’, a domain such as http://www.cabbage-patch-doll.com/ would be appropriate.

Step 4 – Create your site. Using your favorite page generation software and keyword list, it’s time to develop your site. There are several key points to bear in mind when you develop these specifically for Adsense.
1. Format – Always use the large 336x280 large rectangle.
2. Border – Match the same color as your background.
3. Background color - Border – Match the same color as your background.
4. Link = "0000CC"
5. Color_url = "999999"
6. Color_text = "333333"
7. Position – Far left or center and just above the page fold (Top 25% of site)

Step 5 – Verify and track your site Visit your site and make sure all links work and that the sites appear to your satisfaction. You should also check out the ads Google is displaying. Are they targeted to your primary high paying keyword? If not, recreate your site using your high paying keyword in a higher density throughout your site. Make sure you track your Adsense format, position, and traffic with a tracking system specifically designed for Adsense. Once you know your stats, you can adjust for maximum clickthroughs and higher revenues.

Step 6 – Get your site listed in the search engines. This is simple… no tricks involved. Simply rent links to your site. A PR7 or PR8 link will do the job. While I’ve simplified the process here, you are now armed with enough information and resources to make some serious money with Adsense.
